There are historic attractions located in almost every direction from The Lodge Alley Inn , all within minutes from the hotel’s front door, many within walking distance. Situated on the eastern side of the historic area in the heart of Charleston, the inn is located adjacent to the waterfront at 195 East Bay Street. The Lodge Alley Inn is conveniently located a few blocks from the terminus of I-26 and Highway 17 with convenient access to the major east coast north-south thoroughfare of I-95 .

From I-95 take exit South Carolina Exit 86 onto I-26 east into Downtown Charleston: As you approach the I-26 terminus at Highway 17 in downtown Charleston, take the King Street exit onto King Street (US Route 78) and head southeast towards the historic district of downtown Charleston, (King Street becomes a one-way street south of Calhoun Street ) travel about 1 1/4 miles and turn left onto Market Street. In the next block Market Street becomes divided, bear to the right branch or South Market which is one way east and remain on South Market for a couple of blocks until you reach East Bay Street then turn right. The Inn is located one block up on the right.

Traveling from the Myrtle Beach Area, Take US Route 701 South from Conway or US Route 17 South directly from the Grand Strand through Georgetown. Follow Route 17 south (not Alternate 17) towards Charleston. After passing through Mt. Pleasant cross the John P. Grace Memorial Bridge into Charleston, continue on the Septima Clark Parkway for just over a mile, turn right on America Street, then right on Jackson Street towards E. Bay Street, turn right on Morrison Drive, continue on US 52-Spur south. Bear right on the US 52 Spur which becomes East Bay Street, the Inn is located one 1/2 mile down on the right.
