ashore to dig nests and lay their eggs on local coastal islands and beaches. Within
a couple of months, hatchlings race for the sea. Watching these protected species
from a distance is fine, however do not approach or shine lights at nesting females.
Also do not pick up turtles or disturb markers or screens over nesting areas.
Don’t walk in sensitive dune environments, report injured turtles to county or
